Ingrid Loses Big Time!

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

My name is Ingrid Moore, and I have been a member at Sergios for years now. A few years back I lost 40 pounds with Sergio and Christine's help. Nothing radical, just sensible eating and working out 3 times a week. However, dozens of cookies later and over time, I have slowly started to put some of the weight back on. A story that is familiar with anyone who has slimmed down, loved their new body but then wanted to still eat like a kid. And I love to eat!! I eat when I am happy, I eat when I am sad, I eat when I am stressed....okay you get the picture, I LOVE to eat! This my blog...

Ingrid is now down approx 10 lbs since her start date.   Look at the differences in her mid section and thighs!  She is losing inches each week!  Ingrid's hard work is showing, and the changes are incredible!

Check back next week for updated photo's!

Week #8:

Thanks to those who keep checking out my blog and sending me emails. I am still working out, although sometimes I think I am trying Christine's patience with my excuses about why I shouldn't do a certain exercise!

I am at my lowest weight in about 2 years. I have 5 pounds to go to hit my all-time lowest weight. All women on those weight loss commercials say "And I feel great!!" You know what, they are right. Rightly or wrongly, our self esteem is tied to our weight loss. When you are fit and eating right, you do feel fantastic. Cause if you don't, you should seek help - you are probably not eating enough food or working out properly.  I don't care what anyone says, exercise should not hurt. You should feel your muscles but it shouldn't hurt!!

Next week we will chat about surviving those Holiday Parties. Love to hear any survival tips you have. Email me at ingrid@mix97.com

Week #7:

Sometimes I worry that talking about my weight loss is self indulgent. It is an occupational hazard of being on the radio. Talking about ourselves and things we are going through is what we do. You hope others can relate and take something from it. And somedays you get an email like this one and it makes your day.

"Hey Ingrid .....
My name is Ashley and I was listening to u and Sean this morning when you were talking about your progress at Sergios and I have been feeling really down about myself lately and it was nice to know that I am not the only one who has gone through that and it is good motivation for me . . . . I can do it too ...... Thank you so much for motivating me to do something about how unhappy I am with my body !!Thanks again for getting me started and putting me in the right frame of mind ! "

No, thank you Ashley. Emails like yours truly motivate me.

Just this week I was whining to my personal trainer Christine that the weight was coming off slow, and I was frustrated. She gave me some tough love and that shut me up. It was just what I needed. Sometimes we all just need a dose of reality.

Thanks to those who continue to email me - that is the best motivation I could ask for!! To reach me: ingrid@mix97.com

Week #6:

Finally I have something in common with a Hollywood Celebrity! Kirstie Alley has had a public "Battle With The Bulge". Monday she showed up on "Oprah" in a bikini. I don't know how she felt but it sure made me feel good!!! She kept a wrap around her legs and butt and lets face, not a bad call. Don't get me wrong she looked good but she is no size 2 and I could feel her pain. But she, like I, am working at getting to where we want to be "weight-wise". It is not a magic number, it is about losing weight, toning up and feeling good about ourselves again. So although I begged off on appearing in a bikini on this site, I will continue to wear my workout clothes, subject you to my less than perfect body and keep striving to be fit. For any of those that ask me why would I do this to myself? Why would Kirstie? There is no far better motivation that public scrutiny.

Week #5:

Darn those little Hallowe'en chocolate bars! To combat those tempting little suckers (see previous weeks if you don't know about my lack of willpower with the almighty chocolate bar!!)I  went to Yoga, took my son trick or treating, anything to get out of the house and get moving. Christine has got me working out harder this week and I can feel it. I have to remember that it is not only the scale but how my clothes fit and how my body is tightening up. But that being said I do see more movement on the scale.

Thanks for your emails!! They keep me motivated. A lady sent me this nice note this week:

"I'm reading your comments and thinking to myself, how many of us are looking in the mirror guilt ridden at having had an 'off week' where things just fell apart. THEN, getting an injection of motivation by reading your candid I fell off the wagon but got up and jumped back on with more determination'. THANK YOU!!! And I'm sure I say that for many multi-tasking women out there. You may have some reservations some days about what you are doing with this web site Ingrid, but I assure you, you bring a splash of humor and a ray of hope to all who are following your training.

You keep goin'!!!"

Thanks. Gotta keep going my gut is hanging out on this website!!

Week #4:

Okay,  can we just wipe Week 4 off the calendar and start over? One little business trip with a couple of male co-workers and my hard work for the week is Ka-Put!! Let's just say after a trip to a truck stop, a steak house, a fast food restaurant and a bakery there was hardly a salad in sight!! So I will up my workout, stay vigilant this weekend and keep on trying. Thanks to you all for you positive words, that is truly what keeps me going (okay that and half my body hanging out in the photos above)

Week #3:

8 pounds off and well still a few more to go.

Did I mention I hate to exercise?

I have tried every diet know to womankind, and I know the best way to lose weight is to cut back on eating and to exercise regularly. Only as I mentioned I HATE exercise!! I am a curl up in front of the fire with a good book and a blanket kinda gal. That being said I love that feeling that comes over me AFTER I have worked out. There is that mixture of exhaustion and euphoria. That sense of accomplishment and feeling that now, now you can tackle anything. That rush you get from working out, the sweat pouring off you. I hate exercise but I love the results.

Week #2:

Just saw my "before" photos on the web and all I can think was "What Was I Thinking!!!" Okay, so I am 2 weeks into the challenge and all is going well. I am down 5 pounds. I am really into seeing the numbers on the scale get lower, but I also know I am getting fit. By finally taking control of my eating and seriously working out I can see the results. Not only on the scale, but in my clothes. Those pants I tucked into the back of my closet are out and I can actually do them up now. I hope I have found my willpower. It is such a "high" to walk away from cake or butter tarts. Here's to losing ones dignity in the name of slimming down.

Week #1:

Only Serge and Chris could get me excited about cottage cheese. I am cutting back on my eating. Had to summon all the willpower I had to turn down birthday cake 3 times this week. 3 TIMES! That has got to be a record somewhere! And I LOVE birthday cake! But I want to lose weight more than I want that cake. Starting to see results already in the first week. Workouts are tough but let's face it, 3 times a week for an hour is really not that much for a better body. Thank God I have Chris or Serge to crack the whip..on my own I could waste an hour barely breaking a sweat. Next week I'll let you know how I survived Thanksgiving

Sergio's Comments:

Ingrid worked hard last week and is doing well, if only her Irish co-worker worked as hard as the lovely and talented Ms. Moore does, he would be something, instead he is something else! Keep up the hard work Ingrid, because in just a few weeks it will all pay off. -Serg

Christine's Comments:

Not only does Ingrid work hard, she does not whine and complain about what she has to do. We have lots of fun ... well lots of fun for me ... -Chris
